A reading log that
keeps your highlights.
Margin tracks the books you’re reading and keeps the passages you highlight next to your own notes about them. It also shows a few simple stats: your streak, time spent reading this week and how you’re doing on a yearly goal.

Switch Library shelves, open the current book, filter Highlights by tag, then scroll Stats.

Design notes
Serif for books, sans for everything else.
The only serif in the app is for book titles and quoted passages, so it’s always clear what came from the book and what’s the app. Highlights get a yellow marker behind the text, like a real highlighter. The covers are drawn in SwiftUI rather than images, using ten layouts across sixteen made-up books.

About this prototype
This is my own concept, not a real product. I designed it and built it in SwiftUI with help from AI coding tools. The screenshots and the video come straight from the iOS simulator. The books and authors are made up. There’s no store, sync or e-reader behind it.
It runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. On iOS 26 and up, the tab bar picks up Liquid Glass.
